VanderSat welcomes Simone van Schijndel

imone van Schijndel has been appointed as Senior Strategist Water & Climate by VanderSat taking up a position that was specifically created to further expand VanderSat’s presence in the water sector.

Before joining VanderSat Simone oversaw Geotechnical research, consultancy, and risk management services at Deltares where she was part of the management team. Having over 20 years of experience in the water sector she was struck by VanderSat’s mission and their state-of-the-art technology in satellite observation. “I am honored by the opportunity and keenly aware of the responsibility to start working at VanderSat in this time of rapid expansion” she said. “It is impressive to see that everything they do is connected to their mission of being in business to combating the food and water crisis, now and in the future. VanderSat challenges norms and I strongly believe that what they have to offer, has a crucial impact on effectively dealing with natural disasters around the world. I am very much looking forward to becoming part of this team and make a difference. It will be exciting to do this work alongside VanderSat’s talented and passionate scientists and professionals. And, by the looks of it, I am certain we will also have some fun along the way.”

Simone will start in January 2021.
